Although dedicated to a unique method of tapping on strings, The Stick is a member of the electric guitar and bass guitar family. Musician/inventor Emmett Chapman designed The Stick specifically for the "Free Hands" independent two-handed method that he created in 1969, each hand approaching the fretboard from opposite sides, all fingers oriented at right angles to the strings. The minimalist design is light weight and bodiless. Mastering this instrument may be challenging, but its musical scope is huge. Also, it can be quickly worked into a band or a song.
