In 1970, the Martin Guitar Company expanded its product line by introducing the Sigma line. The instruments begin their assembly in Japan, and then are shipped in to Pennsylvania where the Martin company can oversee the final finishing and setup. Sigma guitars are great introductory models to the classic Martin design (source: Michael Wright, Guitar Stories, Volume One).
Instruments previously assembled in Asia, with final finishing/inspection in Nazareth, PA. Distributed by the C. F. Martin Guitar Company of Nazareth, PA.
