Sierra Guitars was a well-conceived but short-lived company that handcrafted the Excaliber line of guitars and basses. Founded in 1981 by Michael Tobias and Ron Armstrong, the San Francisco-based company lasted only one year and produced 50 instruments, (Model specifications and company history source: Hal Hammer).
