Schon guitars are so named for their namesake, guitarist Neal Schon (of Journey fame). Rather than just sign off on a production guitar, Schon actually put up his own money and design contributions to get the Schon guitar into production.
Schon guitar models were originally built by Charvel/Jackson's west coast production facilities; production later shifted to Larrivée Guitars in Canada during their brief flirtation with electric solid body models (circa 1987-1988).
Instruments previously built in CA (later Canada) circa 1987-1990.
