Sandner was originally a line of acoustic archtop guitars in the late 1940s and 1950s from Germany. Sandner stop building guitars in 1958, but they continued to offer violins and other stringed instruments. Sandner reappeared on a line of electric solidbody guitars that were likely built in Japan during the height of the "Lawsuit Era" in the 1970s, but it is unknown if there is any association with the Sandner company from Germany. At least one Les Paul-style Sandner example has been discovered. Any further information on the Sandner trademark/company can be submitted directly to Blue Book Publications.
