The Kawai company of Japan offered a line of electric guitars called Rockoon during the 1980s and 1990s. Rockoon guitars were available in guitar and bass configurations, and most styles were based on popular American designs including the Stratocaster. They also offered a few original designs including the intriguing MS Moon Series that featured a moon-shaped body and moon inlays that morphed from a full moon at the first fret to a quarter moon in the 21st fret. Most Rockoon guitars and basses were equipped with Shadow pickups and Schaller hardware.
