Melody produced guitars that were based on American designs, but were of good quality. Typically, guitars like this were modeled after popular designs with poor quality. Melody original design guitars were built much better as well. The Blue Sage series was introduced in 1982, and included a model called the Nomad that featured a built-in amp and speaker. It is possible that Melody produced acoustics as well. Source: Tony Bacon, The Ultimate Guitar Book.
