LAG has been building guitars in France since 1980. LAG began building the high quality Beast superstrat designed solid bodies, and later introduced the Roxanne Prestige and Roxanne Classic double cutaway LP-ish model. One of the more original designs developed by the LAG company was to offer a Floyd Rose locking tremolo on the Roxanne Prestige, a move un-duplicated by any of the American companies like Gibson, Hamer, Dean (or others with Gibson-esque guitar designs).
Led by Michael Chavarria, the Bedarieux facility currently has eleven workers. LAG has currently cut back on custom models in favor of offering more options on the four series in the new line. LAG specifically uses flamed maple tops on all of their models, and features electronics by DiMarzio, Fishman, and Seymour Duncan; and Schaller, Sperzel, and Wilkinson hardware.
LAG also produces the "Le Key" portable MIDI keyboard controller, a sleek 37-key model worn on a strap just like a guitar. LAG guitars is also offering a jumbo-style acoustic model with either mahogany or rosewood back and sides. This model is also available in an acoustic/electric configuration.
Instruments currently built in Bedarieux, France. Hotline by LAG series is currently produced in Korea (Hotline models are designed in France and built to specifications in Korea). Previously imported and distributed by the Sandell Trading Company, located in Clearwater Beach, FL.
