Luthier Jerry Jones began repair and guitar building at Nashville's Old Time Pickin' Parlour in 1978. By 1980, he had opened his own shop and was building custom guitars as well as designing his own original models. Jones' company specialized in reproducing Danelectro models and parts; however, the designs were updated to improve upon original design flaws and to provide a more stable playing instrument. In April, 2011 Jones retired and most of the tools, parts, and machinery were sold at auction. Source: Tony Bacon and Paul Day, The Guru's Guitar Guide.
