In 1969, luthier Semie Moseley trademarked the Gospel brandname separate from his Mosrite company. Only a handful of late '60s Gospels were produced and featured a design based on Mosrite's Celebrity model guitar. Moseley also produced a Gospel model briefly under his own Mosrite label as well– the rare Gospel (trademark only) does not have the Mosrite name mentioned on the headstock. In the early '80s, Moseley again attempted to offer guitars to the gospel music industry. The Gospel guitars represent Semie Moseley's love of gospel music and his attempt to furnish gospel musicians with quality instruments. Sources: Andy Moseley and Hal Hammer.
