This company builds both original designs and Fender/Gibson-style solid and semi-hollow body guitars. The Gordon Smith name comes from a combination of the two partners Gordon Whitham and John Smith. Gordon left Gordon-Smith in the early 1980s and and formed Gordy guitars. John Smith continues to run Gordon-Smith Guitars. All guitars are hand-crafted. Models feature the company's own pickups and hardware, but hardware options changed through the years. There is a wide variety of models including the GS, GS Explorer, Gypsy, Graf Deluxe, Graduate, Griffin, Galaxy, Gemini (starting to see a pattern?), Classic S, Classic T, and Flying V Series.
