The G# guitars was first designed in 1997 by Øivin Fjeld, and a prototype was built a short time after. The G# name comes from the guitar being tuned G# (same as a fourth-fret capo) and it features a solid body/ neck through body-style guitar with a single coil pickup mounted in the would-be soundhole.
