FISHER, ROGER

Guitarist Roger Fisher was part of the original line-up in the rock group Heart. Fisher left Heart in October 1979, and soon after he founded the Roger Fisher Band, and later Ten Bulls. In the late 1980s, Fisher became a guitar designer/manufacturer. Known for upgrading and re-working his guitars as early as his Heart playing days, Fisher's Trout guitar featured a variety of non-standard features. The Fisher Trout model features a double cutaway custom-shaped body, an on-board speaker, and amp that also doubles as a sustain/feedback device. The guitar also has a seven-band graphic EQ, a headphone output that also doubled as a line-out to mixers or monitor system, a piezo bridge pickup and magnetic pickups, fiber optic position markers, and an asymmetrical neck shaping. It is estimated that a number of these custom guitars are still in the hands of their original owners.
