The Beltone trademark has been used on several different guitars lines between the 1920s and the 1960s. It was first used on acoustic guitars, mandolins, and resonators by Perlberg & Halpin in New York. At least three different electric variations exist of this brand. One use of this trademark has been identified as a House Brand of the Monroe Catalog House. Various Beltone instruments appear to be rebranded Zen-On instruments that were produced in Japan during the 1960s. The second use of this brand was by Teisco of Japan that was imported by Carvin for a short while in the 1960s. The third version of this brand was by Welson guitars of Italy that imported Italian-style guitars (plastic sparkle) into the U.S. market. Source: Walter Murray, Frankenstein Fretworks and Willie G.
