The Merson Musical Supply Company of Westbury, New York was the primary importer of Univox guitars. Merson evolved into Unicord, and also became a distributor for Westbury brand guitars. Westbury instruments featured a set neck design on both the solid body electric guitars and basses, and generally had two humbuckers on the guitar models (some also had a vari-tone switch). Westbury guitars are generally medium to good quality original designs. Source: Michael Wright, Guitar Stories, Volume One.
