Memphis electric guitars and basses are entry level to medium quality instruments designed for the student guitarist. Models encountered so far are the bolt-on neck Fender copies (Strats, Teles, P-basses). Headstocks have a silk-screened "Memphis" logo; guitars usually have a thick polyurethane solid finish, so let's not ask how ply the body wood is. One higher end model with a locking tremolo system and two exposed coil humbuckers was encountered by contributing editor Walter Murray. Source: Walter Murray, Frankenstein Fretworks.
