Chris Celinder, founder of Celinder guitars, started business in 1987 as the Basslab, which is not to be confused with the Basslab in Germany. He worked with electronics wizard Henrik Thomsen until 1990 when he went on his own and started Celinder basses. They relocated within the city of Copenhagen in 1992 when space ran out, and this is where instruments are currently produced. Celinder basses are based off of the popular American Fender design of the Jazz and Precision basses. Celinder takes the original design of Leo Fender and incorporates modern-day knowledge to produce some of the finest bass guitars on the market.
