Luthier Tony Yamamoto hand builds custom acoustic guitars one at a time in his Dublin shop that is located in San Francisco near the East Bay. Yamamoto moved to California from Japan in the 1980s where he first worked as an engineer in semiconductors, but after a number of layoffs he decided to pursue guitar building. In 2003, Yamamoto attended one of Harry Fleishman's ten-day guitar building courses, which set him on his way to start building his own guitars. Yamamoto offers a variety of designs, but he has four main models including the OMY, the Talus, a Baritone, and a Multiscale Six-String. Prices start at $3,000 and several options are available.
