Hans Peter Wilfer, son of Framus´ Frederick Wilfer, established the Warwick trademark in 1982 in Erlangen (Bavaria). Wilfer literally grew up in the Framus factories of his father, and learned all aspects of construction and production right at the source. The high quality of Warwick basses quickly gained notice with bass players worldwide.
In 1995, Warwick moved to Markneukirchen (in the Saxon Vogtland) to take advantage of the centuries of instrument-making traditions. Construction of the new plant provided the opportunity to install new state-of-the-art machinery to go with the skilled craftsmen. The Warwick company continues to focus on producing high quality bass guitars; and since 1993, Warwick also offers a full range of bass amplification systems and speaker cabinets.
Instruments currently produced in Markneukirchen, Germany by Warwick GmbH & Co., Musicequipment KG since 1982. Distributed exclusively in the U.S. by U.S. Music Corp. in Buffalo Grove, IL. Previously distributed by Dana B. Goods in Ventura, CA and Hanser Music Group in Hebron, KY.
