Robert Steinegger developed an interest in guitars while in high school. In 1969, Arthur Overholtzer coached him on classical guitar construction, and while attending school in Utah in 1973, he met Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers. In 1981, he was commissioned by Phil Everly to build an updated, improved version of the now highly collectible Gibson Everly Brothers Model. The "Ike Everly Model" was the result, and was built until 2002, when production was suspended (last retail price was $4,500). Only 57 were built. Robert Steinegger now builds other acoustic configurations, built per individual customer order. For more information contact Steinegger directly.
