The Peter Sorkin Music Company of New York, NY was an importer/distributor of Premier guitars and amplifiers. Many Premier guitars were built in New York using Italian or other foreign parts, and sometimes the instruments would be rebranded, including Marvel, Royce, Bell-Tone, or Strad-O-Lin. Marvel guitars have been identified as the budget line distributed by Sorkin. Marvel guitars may be completely imported or have parts that are imported, which would make the guitar partially U.S. built. Source: Michael Wright, Guitar Stories, Volume One.
Instruments previously built in Japan circa 1950s to mid-1960s. Also see Premier.
