GRIFFIN STRING INSTRUMENTS

Luthier Kim Griffin was born in 1952 and began repairing string instruments of all types in 1975. He then attended the School of Guitar Research and Design in 1977 learning steel string and classical guitar building methods from George Morris and Charles Fox. Since then, he has built steel string acoustic and electric guitars, mandolins, banjos, and hammered dulcimers in Greenwich, New York. Griffin builds custom one of a kind, hand built instruments and offers five different guitar shapes: A (parlor), B (00 size), C (classical), GC (grand concert), and D (rounded dreadnought). Prices start at $2,900 and a minimum deposit of $1,250 secures a place on the waiting list (currently 12- 18 months). For more information contact Griffin directly.
