Jeffrey R. Elliott has been building guitars since 1966, produces a limited number of instruments each year, and has a 12-year waiting list. He is currently not accepting new commissions until further notice; however, those interested can visit the Pre-Owned page on his website to learn of instruments currently available. His classical guitars are constructed in the Torres/Hauser design tradition, while his steel string guitars are designed especially for fingerstyle playing utilizing his hybrid X-and-fan top bracing system and pinless bridge design. All instruments are tailored to the individual both acoustically and aesthetically. Clientele include Julian Bream, Leo Kottke, Ralph Towner, Earl Klugh, Burl Ives, Jonathan Leathwood, and Dick Weissman. The base price for 2013 is $18,000, with an additional charge for certain options: rare woods, cutaways, carved rosettes, additional strings, custom gears and cases, and electronics. All instruments are French polished, and Alessi tuners and a high quality hardshell case are standard. Visit Elliott's website for full details, to view the extensive photo gallery, and learn more.
