Tom Lockwood, the former plant manager at Guild Guitars and Dave Stutzman of Guitar Center formed a partnership in the early 1990s to build acoustic guitars. Acoustech's guitars combined traditional craftsmanship with the latest technology. Guitars appeared to have sold for between $500 and $1,000 when new.
