SIGMA

Instruments currently produced in Asia. Distributed by St. Louis Music, Inc. in St. Louis, MO. Previously produced in Japan between 1970 and 1983, Korea between 1983 and 1993, and Taiwan between 1994 and 2007. Final finishing/inspection occured in Nazareth, PA at the Martin factory.
In 1970, the Martin Guitar Company expanded its product line by introducing the Sigma line. The instruments begin their assembly in Japan, and then were shipped to Martin's factory in Nazareth, PA where they performed final finishing and setup. While Sigma was generally recognized and advertised as being around consistently since 1970, it has not appeared on a consistent basis from Martin. The last line of Martin guitars was produced until circa 1996, and a new line was introduced in 2006 that was distributed by Musicorp. In 2013, St. Louis Music, Inc. announced that they were managing and distributing the Sigma Line.
