ELECTRIC BASS

All MTD instruments are delivered with a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard; 21 frets plus a "zero" fret, 35 in. scale length.
The standard finish for body and neck is a tung oil base with a satin catalyzed urethane. Wood choices for bodies: swamp ash, poplar, and alder. Other woods, upon request, may require up charges. Exotic tops are subject to availability. Beginning 2000, all MTD Basses come equipped with the Buzz Feiten Tuning System. MTD basses feature custom Bartolini active pickups and electronics, volume/pan/treble/mid/bass controls, and internal trim pot to adjust the gain.

Add $100 for a lined fretless neck.
Add $200 for an ebony fingerboard.
Add $100 for a matching peghead.
Add $50-$100 for a matching truss rod.
Add $150 for a hand-rubbed oil stain.
Add $200 for satin epoxy coating on lined or unlined fretless fingerboard.
Add $200 for a maple fingerboard.
Add $200 for epoxy/oil urethane finished maple fingerboard.
Add $200 for a 24-fret fingerboard.
Add $200 for a walnut body.
Add $240 for an MTD custom hardshell case.
Add $300 for a korina, African satinwood (Avadore), or lacewood body.
Add $300 for a wenge neck.
Add $300 for a bird's-eye maple fingerboard.
Add $480-$540 for a piezo bridge system with a Bartolini preamp.
Add $500 for lacquer finish: Sunburst (amber or brown), See-Throughs (transparency) of Red, Coral Blue, or Honey Gold.
Add $500 for chambers.
Add $500-$1,000 for a 10 Top of burl, flamed, or quilted maple, myrtle, or mahogany.
