Amplifiers previously produced in Japan during the 1960s and 1970s. Distributed by LaFayette Radio Electronics in Syosset, NY.
Lafayette amplifiers and guitars were imported to the U.S. and sold through LaFayette Radio Electronics catalogs. The LaFayette product line consisted of amplifiers, thinline acoustic/electric archtops, and solid body electric guitars and basses. Many models were built by Japan's Guyatone company, although some may also be Teisco models. Initially, only smaller practice/entry-level models were available, but by the late 1960s, a full line of small and large amps in a variety of configurations was available. Some models may look very similar to other Japanese brands (Kent for example) as they were built by the same company. Most amps are valued between $150 and $200.
