JHS
Instruments previously built in Japan during the late 1970s.
The JHS trademark was the initials of the UK importer John Hornby Skewes, who founded his import company in 1965 (See Encore). The generally good quality instruments featured both original designs and those based on classic American designs. The line focused primarily on solid body guitars, much like the Encore line today.
