Instruments previously produced in Korea during the late 1980s. Distributed by Kaman Music in Bloomfield, CT.
Ovation used the Celebrity brand on a line of entry-level solidbody guitars and basses in the late 1980s. After Ovation discontinued solidbody electric production in the early 1980s, they began importing pieces from Korea and assembling them in the U.S. This later evolved into the Celebrity brand that survived for a short while in the late 1980s. These guitars featured the "pointy" body styles that were popular during the 1980s and are very similar to Kramer designs. Kaman Music bought Hamer in 1988, and decided to let that brand handle solidbody electrics. Celebrity models often have "Celebrity" on the headstock and "Ovation" on the neckplate, but other variations may exist.
